M. Ward + Norah Jones

The M. Ward & Norah Jones mega-tour came to War Memorial Auditorium in Greensboro, NC on Tuesday night, and a few Merge staffers were in attendance. Norah came out and sang the first song of Matt's set, One Life Away from 2005's Transistor Radio. Matt joined Norah for a few songs at the end of her set including the Dolly Parton parts of the duet Creepin' In from her 2004 release, Feels Like Home.

Her fans were very gracious, and if the rousing applause is any indication, many are now M. Ward fans!

We love Salt Lick!

Every year during SXSW, we try to squeeze in a visit to Salt Lick, a legendary Texas BBQ mecca. Go there, you won't be sorry! Our very good friend and radio guru, Karen Glauber, was brave enough to come with us Merge-ies, and a couple of Broken Wests. She survived and sent back the following photos.

MERGE WEEK - VBS TV

Hey Kids,

Did you know that Vice Magazine now had its own TV network on the web? Sure you did. VBS TV (Vice Broadcasting Service) is now online and this week they are featuring new videos each day from various Merge artists. It's Merge Week !!! Sort of like Spring Break, but G-rated and with less sunscreen. So far they've featured videos from Spoon, Camera Obscura, Portastatic and White Whale. More to come on Thursday and Friday.

They also have some backstage and live Arcade Fire footage from filmaker Lance Bangs in his regular feature for VBS, cleverly titled Bangs!.
